Is there anyone out there?

Not sure if anyone still reads this (or checks up for updates) – it’s been a while – but I thought it was worth a shot…

The reason why I so abruptly quit Double Salto is because, for many reasons that I don’t particularly wish to disclose, I have found that following the beautiful sport of gymnastics has been extremely triggering to my eating disorder. I wish it wasn’t so, but there ya have it: that’s the cold, hard truth.

During the past couple (almost) of months, I suffered from a mini-relapse after finally getting myself to a healthy weight…now trying to gain it again. It’s a pain in the ass, but you do what you gotta do.

However, I did miss blogging – a lot – so I started a recovery blog, which has been immensely helpful. If anyone is interested in following it at all (I’m assuming those that have been through similar situations), you can contact me through the IG message board. I’m debster.

I don’t think I’ll ever be back here. It’s just too much. I thought I could handle it, but I can’t, obviously. And right now, my health is so much more important.

I’ll always love gymnastics with all my heart.

Go outside enjoy the sun, walk around and just appreciate all the little details outside you usually miss. It will make you more relaxed and just clear up you mind.

  9. Knowing what your triggers and limitations are shows a lot of strength–good luck to you! I hope to see you blogging again soon because I love your site, but as another commenter said, your health is much more important.

  10. I wish you well! Thank you so much for all your help in communicating gymnastics information to the world! You have been a vital part to our tight knit gymnastics internet community and your blog will be missed 🙂

  11. I have just discovered this blog and I love your past entries, but I do understand you: I have been through eating disorders too and even watching gymnastics made me focus on bad habits again. Now I think I can say I got over it and I even took up gymnastics again 😀 (at age 30). I wish you the very best. Thanks for leaving the blog here so that we can enjoy your writings on gymnastics.

  12. You seemed like a little cutie. With a brain and a sense of humor too. Just eat up. Work out hard if you need to. But no crazy diet stuff. Heck there are other people who can’t keep it off. Find some foods that taste good. Get a boyfriend and eat together.
